09/09/09 Session

Today's session wasn't like very other session. Today we took a trip to the Martin Luther King Library located here on our very own SJSU campus. At the library we learned many things that can help us with our schoolwork. Some of those things are RefWorks and looking up for books from the SJLibrary catalogue.

Tips and Tricks

Week 1-Buy your books no later then yesterday!

Week 2- Buy used books and then sell them when you are done with them to save money.

Week 3-Get use to public transportation, it's cheaper then running a car.

Week 4-Besides getting to know your campus, consider getting to know and befriend as many people as possible.

Week 5- Attend all your classes. When you miss class you miss assignments, you fall behind, and you project a bad image to the proffessor.

Week 6- Meet with your proffesor atleast one time during the semester. It is very important that your proffessor knows who you are and can help with any questions during the course.

Week 7- Do not wait till the last minute to do assignments. When you wait you miss out on using valuable resources and your assignment will not be as strong.

Week 8- Give yourself time to study for each exam. Studying last minute and cramming do not work and causes alot of stress.

Week 9- Try to get atleast 8 hours of sleep everynight. The more sleep the more alert you are and the more ready you are to learn.

Week 10- Eat right and try to stay healthy. The healthier you are, the chance of you not missing class increases.

Week 11- Save money. Spend your money wisely. Have enough money for books and other school supplies.

Week 12- Be caught up on all your readings and sometimes read a little bit a head to be prepared for the next lesson.

Week 13- Schedule and meet with an advisor in your major prior to choosing classes. This will help you know what classes you need and all the prerequisites.

Week 14- Keep all your graded assignments. They can be useful for proof incase a proffesor messed up on your grade.

Week 15- Go to class prepared with all the necessary supplies you are going to need. Proffessors hate it when you are not prepared, and sometimes send you home to go get the supplies.

Week 16- When doing homework, assignments, or essays, it is very important that you keep focused. Stay away from anything that can be a distraction such as TV, Ipod, Myspace, Facebook, and Youtube.
